HIGH-SPEED RAIL LINE OPENS WITH VT FROM HITACHI CHINA

The Chifeng West Railway Station in Chifeng, China, opened on July 1 with vertical-transportation (VT) equipment from Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., Ltd., the company announced. The station, an integrated transportation hub project of the Kazuo-Chifeng High-Speed Railway, is equipped with 20 escalators and 15 elevators, provided by Hitachi in tandem with related maintenance services to the eastern and western squares as well as the bus hub of the station. With the line's opening, Chifeng is now connected to China's national high-speed railway network via the network's Beijing-Shenyang line. The line cuts travel time to several Chinese urban centers.
