NYC NEWS STATION LOOKS AT ELEVATORS IN POST-COVID WORLD

     Fox 5 News in NYC recently talked to two experts about elevators in a post-pandemic, social-distanced world, observing that “urban designers are reimagining building design.” Nicole Gelinas, senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, says buildings owners and managers must carefully consider elevators, in particular because of how confined they are. Executive Director of the independent think tank Center for Urban Future Jonathan Bowles says building design will need to incorporate more elevators to reduce crowding. “I think we’ll see some interesting new ways of thinking about development and planning our city in a world in which pandemics may occur,” Bowles says.
