CECA UPDATES MCP DOCUMENTS

The Canadian Elevator Contractors Association (CECA) recently announced the CECA Maintenance Control Plan (MCP) for the 2016 code (intended for provinces that have adopted it) is now posted in the members area of the CECA website. In addition to the new code requirements, the MCPs include extra records for oil loss monitoring and a new section in the logbooks for additional AHJ requirements. Additionally, Section 8.6.4.11 Runby, which had been missing from the 2013 code logbook, was added. Additionally, CECA’s MCP Committee has finalized separate British Columbia (BC) sheets for the additional requirements (beyond the code) outlined by Technical Safety BC. These sheets and the supporting documents are now posted (also in the members area of the CECA website) under the “MCP Library” heading. Members are asked to modify the MCPs as needed but to ensure the CECA logo remains on them.
