CORONAVIRUS INDUSTRY UPDATE

  • CED Elevator & Electrical, which has offices throughout the U.S., is operating at full capacity while enforcing social distancing among staff and customers. Additional steps include employees working from home, regular disinfection of high-traffic areas and closure of all offices to outside vendors and non-essential personnel.
  • Titan Machine Corp., headquartered in NYC, has taken measures including not allowing employees who have commuted via mass transportation to come to work and installing additional hand-soap dispensers and sanitizer stations. The company is considering altering work shifts and production schedules.

The company is monitoring the latest reports from the CDC and is taking proactive measures to product employees and customers.
  • South Jersey Elevator, based in Blackwood, New Jersey, continues to support its customers to the best of its ability as it follows all CDC guidelines, recommendations and precautions in an effort to slow the spread of any potential illness.
  • Orona, headquartered in Hernani, Spain, reports its production facilities and maintenance services are operational. The European manufacturer and exporter has implemented a comprehensive plan to protect its workers and clients.   •  vda®, an elevator consultancy headquartered in East Hanover, New Jersey with offices in 30 additional locations, says it can enable 90% of its staff and to work remotely, thanks to investment in cloud-based IT systems.   • National Association of Elevator Contractors President Don Gelestino says his NYC-based company, Champion Elevator Corp., is working at 100% capacity and offering 24-hour emergency service to ensure that hospitals, nursing homes, schools, banks and other essential buildings continue to have working elevators.
