CHILD HURT WHEN ARM GETS STUCK IN ESCALATOR STEPS

In an incident captured on surveillance video, a 2-year-old boy was injured when his arm got stuck in the steps of an escalator at a mall in Hunan, China, Asia One reports. The video showed the boy suddenly falling onto the steps of the downward-moving escalator. Moments before he reached the bottom, a security guard hit the emergency stop button. Firefighters responded to the scene, and, working for about 30 min, delicately cut and pried the steps back until the boy's arm was freed. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. An eyewitness said the quick action of the security guard likely saved the boy from more-serious injuries.
