JUMPING IN ELEVATOR BRINGS BIG BILL FOR TORONTO MAN

A Toronto man was billed CAD875 (US$668) for causing an elevator in his condominium building to stop by hopping up and down in it, CBC reports. The man told the source he was traveling in the elevator with his daughter when he decided to "lightly hop on one foot" to keep her entertained. The man and his daughter were trapped for more than an hour, as elevators are designed to stop if a hop is detected, Quality Allied Elevators told the CBC. When the man told the front-desk attendant about the incident, he was informed of the pending charge, which the man said is unfair to his family.
