PHILIPPINES' TALLEST TOWER PLANNED FOR MANILA SUBURB

The Estate, an "ultra-luxury" residential tower planned in the Manila, Philippines, suburb of Makati, is drawing considerable public interest, developer STRC recently told BusinessWorld. At 276.8 m tall and 54 stories, The Estate will be the tallest building in the country. It will house 188 units ranging from two to three bedrooms up to 224 m2 in size, plus 12 penthouse suites of three or four bedrooms up to 764 m2. About 40% of the units have already been sold, and remaining units are priced at more than PHP600,000 (US$11,688) per m2. The building is being designed by Foster + Partners and is expected to be ready for occupancy in 2023. STRC is a joint venture between property firms SM Development Corp. and Federal Land, Inc.
