PLANS UNVEILED FOR UNION PARK IN TORONTO
Plans have been unveiled for a new mixed-use complex, developed by Oxford Properties Group, in the area of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The CAD3.5-billion (US$2.7-billion), 4.3-million-ft2 project is being called Union Park. Designed by Pelli Clark Pelli Architects, it is expected to include four (two office and two residential) towers. The office towers will be 48 and 58 stories, and the residential towers will be 44 and 54 stories, Urban Toronto reports. There will be 800 rental apartments, 3.3 million ft2 of office space and 100,000 ft2 of retail space. The complex will also implement energy-efficient designs to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Platinum certification. Oxford hopes to begin construction in 2023.
