IN MEMORIAM: MARTIN A. WALSH, SR.

Martin A. Walsh, Sr., who enjoyed a 65-year career in the elevator industry, passed away on June 21 at age 90. A U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War, Walsh held management and field positions at Otis and other NYC-area elevator companies before founding Walsh Associates, Ltd. in 1981. Now in its 38th year, the Manhattan-based consultancy has employed three generations of the Walsh family. Survivors include children, Rosemary, Marty, Kathleen and Dan; and seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online to the St. Francis Hospital Foundation by clicking on the “ways to give” section. Donors are asked to include “Martin A. Walsh” in the tribute section of the online form. "Our family takes solace in knowing Dad had a marriage for the ages [to the late Kathleen], a family he loved with every ounce of his being. . . and is now reunited with Mom," Walsh's family said.
