CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON QUEEN’S WHARF IN BRISBANE

Construction on Queen’s Wharf in Brisbane, Australia kicked off when a tower crane was installed on the site after 2 1/2 years of demolition and excavation, The Urban Developer reports. The AUD3.6-billion(US$2.5-billion) project will include four new luxury hotels, more than 50 bars and restaurants and 2,000 residential apartments. The builder, Multiplex, is expected to have 10 tower cranes on the site over the next six months. The cranes will help build three resort towers and the first residential tower along with the podium level and sky deck. The project is being developed by Destination Brisbane Consortium.
