ABU DHABI DEVELOPER WITH BURJ KHALIFA TIES EYES ETHIOPIA

Eagle Hills, a real estate company based in Abu Dhabi, hopes to transform approximately 36 hectares on Ras Makonnen Street in Addis Ababa into a mixed-use development with hotels, a mall, 4,000 apartments and entertainment called La Gare Eagle Hills, Fortune reports. Towers pictured on the project website, lagare.com/project/la-gare/, appear to be at least 30 stories tall. In April, Addis Ababa city officials were reviewing the plan, specifically whether it would preserve structures including a historic train station completed in 1917. In partnership with the city, Eagle Hills aims to complete the project within seven years. Of note is that Eagle Hills Chairperson Mohammed Alabar is the developer of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai with his company Emaar.
