STRUCTURAL WORK WRAPS ON SOUTH KOREA’S SECOND TALLEST
Structural work that involved 110,000 mT of steel and 610,000 m3 of concrete has been completed by POSCO Engineering & Construction on Haeundae LCT The Sharp in Busan, South Korea, for which Mitsubishi Electric is providing the vertical-transportation system, The Korea Times reports. Upon completion, its 101-story Landmark Tower, containing a hotel operated by Lotte Hotels & Resorts and serviced apartments, will be the second tallest building in the country after Lotte World Tower. The development also includes a pair of 85-story apartment buildings that together will house 882 apartments, along with a shopping mall and a water park. Construction that is wind and earthquake resistant includes materials such as a new high-performance steel developed by POSCO.
