SIX NEW ESCALATORS FOR BUSY RAILWAY STATION IN INDIA
India’s Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru Railway Station, from which 150 trains originate every day, is getting six new escalators to help ease traffic flow, the Deccan Herald reports. The union minister for Statistics and Program Implementation laid the foundation stone for the new units earlier this month, as well as a foundation stone for quadrupling of the railway line between Bengaluru Cantonment and Whitefield. The line is also getting an auto-signaling system. Member of Parliament P.C. Mohan observed that such improvements help bring the station up to international standards.
