FOUR ESCALATORS FOR INDIAN RAIL STATION IN TOURISM HUB

India’s Railway Minister Piyush Goyal says four escalators will be installed in coming weeks at the Aurangabad Railway Station serving Aurangabad in the state of Maharashtra, The Times of India reports. Currently served by one escalator, the station has four platforms and two foot overbridges. Dating to 1900, it is located in a city that is a tourism hub with numerous historical monuments. Observing the ministry has tripled the number of escalators since 1999 to more than 600 in 2014, Goyal said the new units promise to enhance accessibility and are part of the ministry's "path of continuous progress."
