CLOTHING RETAILER PLANS SKYSCRAPER IN DANISH HOMETOWN

Global clothing retailer Bestseller plans to build a 320-m-tall skyscraper in Brande, Denmark, to serve as its headquarters, Insiders Tribune reports. Being funded entirely by Bestseller's billionaire CEO, the plan includes restaurants, hotels, offices, residences and shops in the town where the company was founded in 1975. With what will become one of the tallest towers in Europe as its centerpiece, the project is being handled by Danish firms Ramboll Group A/S (engineering) and Dorte Mandrup (architecture). Despite Danes generally being averse to tall towers in their towns, the Bestseller development could result in "huge commercial and social investment" in Brande.
