URA TOWER, UGANDA’S SECOND-TALLEST BUILDING, DEBUTS
Nine 2-mps elevators, one for the exclusive use of service staff, are among the features of the Uganda Revenue Authority's (URA) new tower in Kampala, Uganda, according to SoftPower News. In January, Uganda President Yoweri Museveni commissioned the office building, which, at 23 stories, is the country's second-tallest building, Construction Review Online reports. Construction of the URA Tower was handled by Ms Seyani Brothers & Co. and began approximately four years ago. It incorporates "green" features such as a building management system and a central core atrium to enhance natural ventilation. It also boasts better access-control, lighting, water, security, firefighting and information-technology systems.
