INDIAN RAILWAY DIVISION IMPLEMENTING NEW VT EQUIPMENT
India’s North Western Railway (NWR) plans to install eight escalators and two elevators at five stations serving the Jaipur area, DNA reports. Of these, Gandhi Nagar, NWR's second-busiest station after Jaipur, was set to get two escalators to ease accessibility between its two platforms. People are currently forced to use stairs to travel between the platforms. The station, which has gained notice for being the only station on the main line managed entirely by women, has also been outfitted with security cameras and a baggage scanner.
