“ENGINEERING SPECTACLE” BRIDGE WITH ELEVATORS OPENS IN INDIA
Fourteen years after it was proposed, Signature Bridge over the Yamuna River in northwest Delhi, India, opened to the public with a laser-light show on November 4, Scoop Whoop reports. Described as a "civil engineering spectacle" by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, the 575-m suspension bridge is outfitted with a 154-m-high glass viewing box and four elevators, each with a 50-person capacity. In addition to serving as a tourist attraction with its viewing box and selfie spots, the bridge aims to reduce travel time between north and northeast Delhi.
